Thanks to all friends in here for your answers before and for the next question: This computer have (or had?) a 120 Gig for back up of everything, but for some reason the C gone bad; so change it, fresh intalled Xp and, guess what happened? When the machine starts, the slave it is not recogniced by Windows!!! Why, because sometimes the machine gets locked without any activity, takes two or more try it outs to start??? PS gone bad too??? The slave appears in BIOS, with 0 bites free. Which could be the more secure way to read it again and retrieve the data to DVDs or CDs??? And this, after trying a new PS!!! This machine is a 2.5 Mhz. 700 and something RAM.

I take it therefore you have tried 'Cable Select' is it showing in 'Disk Management' and it needs an 'Import Foreign Drive' or words to that effect.

If you have important data on there try slaving in another computer and save from there if it is recognised of course, if you still have probs with it there go get a Diagnostic Prog from HD manufacturers and this will check if the HD is functioning ok and they usually come with a fix if there is bad sectors there.
