Second HD is not recognized by Win XP Pro

I have a PC with running on Win XP Pro with 2 HD. One is the boot drive and the other one is considered storage. This system is IDE or EIDE. I recently replaced my boot drive from a 120GB WD to a 200GB WD. However the 320GB Maxtor storage drive remained unchanged and untouched. After installing the OS on the new boot drive noticed under COMPUTER MANAGEMENT I can only see 120GB of the my storage drive and the only option for using the drive I have been given is to format it.
Both Drives' umpers are set to CABLE SELECT and of course the order is determined by the cable.
I have hooked up the storage drive to another machine and confirmed the information is there. I also have enabled the drive under computer management.
Any thoughts on what I need to do to get OS see and recognized my storage drive in it's entirety!

Have you tried to set your drives as master and slave.

 

This is a good suggestion and be aware that the jumper configurations may be different for the Maxtor vs. WD drives. So get the jumper configuration from the label or the manfacturer's website for each drive. [ie. cable select for WD may be no jumper but for Maxtor may be a jumper on middle pins or something like that]

 

did set it up as suggested no difference
not sure if I mentioned it or not but the portion of the MAXTOR seen is only 128GB even though the drive is a 320GB drive. I also think when I installed the MAXTOR it was formatted as FAT as opposed to NTFS. WD is formatted as NTFS
