My friend has this HP Slimline computer:

And he tried to play the game, "Wings of Prey". Lo and behold he needs a better video card that is low profile and doesn't use much power. (his PS is 220w) And I don't think that's gonna happen...

So I found this video card:

    And this power supply:

Can anyone recommend a better power supply or video card or is this about as good as it's going to get?

Well, I'd rather save the $100 and put it towards a real computer, but then that's just me.;) An upgrade for just one game doesn't make sense to me as there's always another game lurking around the next corner, waiting to be played.

As a personal thought i would spend a little more money on a quality branded PSU of 500watts or even more if you can afford it (PSU power is the life blood of the PC) you will then be able to run any GPU that you want.

With a powerful PSU upgrades are always easy but if you are short on power it doesn't matter what you put in the case it will not perform and could damage other components.

another thing to think about is that towers are cheap. could always transplant. though that leads to building the Franken-puter, which gets expensive quick lol. i'd look through at the costs of all of that (tower + ps + graphics card) V.S. new rig that can handle it all and be upgraded easier. :major

That game "pushes" my 750w PSU with a 4850. It is high graphics and like augie says save your money.

I think you may "just" reach the "minimal standards" of the game and really "detract" from its potential (and thus enjoyment).

I don't game much but I do know that the 'minimal requirements' are always way below customer expectation levels. Heck man, MS's 'Flight Simulator' demo still stutters on my sig rig. Go figure eh?:confused
