Secondary drive - Access Is Denied

After my drive C:\ broke and I reinstalled everything on drive D:\ is not accessible, please help me out here guys, I can see all the files but not open/move/rename them

I have really important files what I cant get again on there

 

Some more detailed explanation would be useful.

 

When I try to open a file it says:

That is why I asked for more explanation.

Your first post says the D drive is not accessible,
Your later one says a particular folder on the E drive is not accessible.

So try to answer some questions.

What do you mean by C drive broke?

Did you physically replace it?

Did you re-connect it to the same pc or to another one?

What drive did you re-install Windows to?

What version of Windows are you running on both systems?

Have you tried running check disk on the old drive?

I would guess that your access problem is a question of 'taking ownership' of the docs and setting folder, but am confused about which drive is which.

 

That picture was taken off of the internet, my D drive is the inacessible one, C drive is my primary drive and I was using windows xp professional on it, it crashed and wouldn't boot so I reinstalled windows xp professional on the C:\ drive,I am using the D:\ drive for storage, I installed xp professional on it but deleted all the files so now it is just there for whatever files I want, I tried running check disk and that didn't help, I didn't replace C:\ with a different hdd

Would try taking ownership as studiot suggested, If using XP first read through two links above and then decide on a course of action.
