secondary monitor

i have bought a vista OS laptop and would like to be able to use it as a secondary monitor.

1st question:- can i use a vista OS laptop as a secondary monitor wen i use windows xp on my pc?

if not, then this isnt a problem as i have vista on my pc too on a second hardrive...

2nd question:-how do i set it up as a secondary monitor so i can use my pc, and the laptop screen as a secondary monitor, if it can be done....

btw i have a SLI setup on my pc

As far as I know, you cannot use a laptop as a monitor for a different PC. It just doesn't work that way

 

Depends what you are after.

You cannot plug anything in to use the dual monitor facility of your pc graphics system and spread over two screens.

However you can make the laptop a remote terminal so that you could repeat what is on your pc screen for another user to view.

hmm i was really after using my pc, and being able to drag applications acroos onto the laptop screen....but least ya helpin lol, im learning....might just part with some cash n buy another monitor

 

Does your desktop PC use onboard video or an add-on video card? Have you verified that you have connectors for two monitors?

 

my desktop pc uses an sli set up, running 2 geforce 7600s.....i have a vga cable abdaptor for the wire i have, and the laptop uses the same port as the blue graphic card to monitor cable....ive tried inseting the cable into the second card then into the laptop, and i have also tried using the vga adaptor and pluging it into the same card as my monitor is pluged into

lol well im lucky it didnt fry then...answer me this, is there anyway to make the laptop monitor a second monitor with my pc as the main one?
