new to forums and not sure if i'm in the right forum. it could be a malware issue but then again it could just be a software conflict issue. do i need to be in the malware forum or the software ?
in firefox i just started getting all these security certificate issues (see attachments) . one is my email at google, another is yahoo, another says "this connection is untrusted" - for heavens sakes, this one is mozilla. if these aren't trusted sites, none aare. is this a browser problem ?

whenever i try to use IE - upon opening the browser, i get a pop up window at the bottom telling me the Ask Toolbar has been successfully installed and it ask me to click "enable" to complete the installaation. i don't want the Ask Toolbar so i click "don't enable" and i get a new window (Ask.com) with the same pop-ups asking me to click enable. if i go to my home page (google) these to Ask Toolbar windows ar there also- asking me to click "enable.
i'm also aware of the Geek malware removal instructions but didn't see anything there specifically relavent to my issue.

    would app any help

Hi and welcome...I'm moving this to software for now.

One question...based on what they are saying, you should check the date and time on your computer.

Oh, and also as far as the Ask Toolbar, you should be able to find it in your Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it.

many tks 4 reply - i did check the clock/calendar - it was showing 3 05 am on 5/22/2009. i set the clock to synchronize with " time.windows.com but haven't had a chance to use it long enough to determine if this will stop the security certificate issue.

    tks again for help

That may very well have been your issue based on the dates and messages that were showing in the certificate warnings. Hopefully, it'll be that easy for you. If it continues, check back and maybe someone else will have some other ideas.
