I have the same problem with secureapp70700.exe and I am running Windows 7. I attempted to follow the instructions above but when I enter 'regedit' in the start menu the new window opens and immediately closes. Then I get another warning from the malware program about internet security.

How can I fix this problem if I cannot even open the 'regedit' window? Also I am running Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. Thanks for any advice.

Hi

While you have a similar issue to the other thread you posted in yours is a little different as you cannot open regedit to do the below

Vista and Win7 this

Vista and Win7 follow this

Open Regedit ( goto Start > type regedit in the Start Search box and hit enter )
Locate the registry key location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify and right click the folder and choose Export ( this will

backup that location for you )

then Delete the two values but right clicking and choose delete both IconStreams and PastIconsStream once deleted hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and look for explorer.exe in the Processes Tab and click it,

then choose End Process (at this point it is perfectly normal for your taskbar and all desktop icons to disapear)

then with the Task Manager still open click the top menu option of New Task (Run...) and in the Open box type explorer and hit enter.

then when you check the Customize Notifications they will all be gone ( apart from some running ones ) best bet is to restore all your actual running tray processes is to re-boot

This is likely as you still have the malware on your PC and the below steps are needed to be run in this guide and then start a new thread in the malware area of this forum and attach the logs as requested, then allow our malware experts to help you remove any found malware, then you should be able to run the above
