Hi. I just purchased a logitech 4000 webcam and had a question about the motion detector for security protection. My question is how can I protect myself against someone stopping the monitoring and deleting the video file. I added a password so that if anyone tries to stop the motion detector once it's enabled they will have to enter a password. But I've found out that all anyone needs to do to get around this is to press control/alt/delete and then press the end task button. This will shut down the motion detector and enables the person to go back into the program and do anything they want to like deleting any videos that may have caught them through the motion detector. What good does a security webcam do for you if it's this easy to manipulate? Thanks for your help.

Basically these security webcams are very low security indeed and are just a "better than nothing" approach to security. The only reliable method is to use a digital recording system that is designed specifically for the job and is fully password protected.

You may wish to try loading Winboost onto you machine which allows you to control what sort of access is available to others. (link below)
