I hear tell that "the reason ISO Buster" is so good at what it does, is that it “bypasses the Windows ...blah... ...blah... when it reads what data is stored on the digital CD / DVD media, so there is a greater accuracy of read; read error resolution...” thereby duplicating that data to be stored in some target directory the user's preferred destination, such as HDD.

If this is so, or not-- hmm... i guess i don't care, but i do trust that app, and i'd use it-- IF i could in the task i wish to embark upon now, but-- what i wish to do is consolidate various folders (holding audio data, mp3, wav, etc), from multiple locations (i.e. different HDD's), so that I might ultimately have one HDD wherein all of my digital audio will reside, and I might later do whatever with those other HDD's, whence the data was originally stored (eg. like format n lay down a fresh Xunutu 8! or use for a storage slave, or whateva).

in other words. him wants to copy stuff from one hard drive to another, but him want it be good, and not corrupted by Windows be readin' it., yo.

anyone know of an app designed to do precisely this sort of task? i don't need any filtering, or advanced regex options, or none of that sort-- i know where the folders, etc. are-- just want to transfer data, unadulterated. (however, i would not cry about it, if there happened to be also a built-in "no clones" sort of thing, but clones i can handle separately if i must, as "No Close" and others do a fair job o' dat, eh?)

    thanks!!

Why 2.3.0.1? What was different? What do I need to look for there?

... and class... do we agree with the recommendation posed by good Novice today?

EDIT (er... since 10 mins passed i see...):

what about-- Install / uninstall procedure?

can i do a Seperate Dir, alongside (eg. 2.4.0.1), or Rec'd to remove-- (eg. use something like Revo) to wipe existing from sys, and start over w/ this 2.3.0.1?

necessary, to go that far, or is the issue inconsequential ?

Sorry, I didn't know that you were a teacher! I only supplied a link to a program that you inquired about. I honestly doubt that it will help you in what you are trying to do, but could be wrong. For me, Windows itself does a great job of transferring files between drives with no problems. Have you tried it? Class, what do you think? :confused

Sorry about the tone of my previous post, but also lost the ability to edit. I honestly don't believe that ISOBUSTER will help you in what you are trying to do, if the files are already on your drives. I just use the "send to" in Windows and haven't had any problems so far. :)

ISOBuster is an incredible application, and worth every penny to purchase, but as Novice said, its not the answer to your problems.

Your first post is vague at best--can you get to the point? Windows is not likely to corrupt your data during transit via copy, but if you are worried it will, then there are plenty of tools that can do synchronization and so forth.

http://www.gpsoft.com.au/ may be better suited to what you need, but as I mentioned, you need to be more specific. If you are looking for something to clone a harddisk to another, then thats another thing altogether.
