Seems to have two 'my documents' folder on my XP

I'm running out of space on my HDD so I've been looking into the Windows Explorer to see if there's anything I can delete.

What I've found is that I think I have two 'my documents' folders with almost identical content. (<3 GB difference).

The first one sits under
- Desktop
- My documents

The other one is under
- Desktop
- My Computer
- C:
- Documents and Settings
- My.Name.Folder
- My Documents

I've got two questions;
Does this mean I have two of most documents/music/pictures etc? If so, which location is most beneficial to keep, and then delete the other?

I hope this makes sense... I had to reformat the HDD a while back so this could possibly be a reason why it's doubled up???

I believe the one on your "desktop" is just a "shortcut" to your file on "C:" swewolf

 

What are the full path names?

I.E.

c:\documents and settings\username 1
c:\documents and settings\username 2
etc.

 

BCGray, I think you are right. After looking a little closer it says that the 'Desktop' files are nothing more than a short cut.
