Selected an option now monitor goes into standby when the computer loads to login.

Right this is my first post so i hope someone can help

I was playing battlefield 2 and then it crashed and went straight to desktop. My desktop was in 4 bit mode and low resolution so i went to properties > settings to reconfigure it. Unfortuatly it wouldnt let me modify any of the options. There was another option (a box to tick) so i ticked it and pressed ok. I cant remember what this option said but it was something like "extent/extend to windows". Now since this didnt do anything i restarted my computer but when it loaded and finally got to the login screen the monitor goes into standby and nothing i have done will bring it out of standby.

I have checked my brothers and my mums computer and they dont ahve the option i clicked. So what could this option have been.

You will need to provide a little bit more info about your system. Try booting your system up into safe mode. Hit the F8 key repeatedly while booting. Once into safe mode change you display settings. If this does not work hang in there the people here are great and will hook you up with a solution.
