I am selling my ASUS netbook and need to get rid of any personal information. I think I need to re-install the operating system to do that. I have never installed the operating system on a pc, and the netbook doesn't have a CD-ROM drive. Can anyone give me some information on what I should do?

    Hi

What model Netbook and what Windows version does it have installed? as many have a recovery partition that you can run to set the Netbook back to Factory Settings.

Alternative is that its possible to install a Windows OS from USB pen, if the Netbook has the ability to boot from USB, check in the BIOS for this statup boot option.

It's the 1005 AH netbook running windows 7 starter edition.

If you don't have a restore option on the PC, go to ASUS' support website. You may be able to purchase a CD/DVD restore disk for a few bucks. If you don't see it listed, e-mail ASUS' tech support for options.

If you have to go this route, ask your friends if they have an external DVD drive (USB connection) you can borrow for an hour or so to do the restore.

    Hope this helps. :)
