Separate User accounts in XP

First time posting, nice site you have here!

My wife has an ipod and itunes version that is before the current version 7. She tried updating to version 7 with horrible results.

Since then, she is getting me an ipod for Christmas and itunes recommends separate user accounts to keep our accounts separate. I have plugged my new nano in and it says it requires version 7 of itunes.

My question is, can I download version 7 in my user and leave the previous version alone on the 'family' user?

 

software version is system wide, not account only.

Im sure it reccomended separate accounts to keep you from mixing your music with everyone else's.

 

what problems did she have with itunes 7?
