    I was helping my parents with a computer problem where their computer wouldn't boot.

    Well I wound up taking XP home edition off and installing XP Pro... the computer worked for a couple days with no problems except for a little sluggishness.

    Well she called today and said the computer will get to the welcome screen but when she clicks her name icon it starts to load and then goes to saving settings and logs off and shuts the computer down?

    I am at a dead end here and really don't know what else to do? Any suggestions will be oh so helpful.... Thanks...

    What are the System Specs? How much memory is she running, how fast is the processor, how big is the hard drive...etc.

    Welcome to MG, here's hoping we can get to the bottom of it!! :)

    I recon this is a piece of spyware. I'm not too familiar, but I think it might be HSA.

    Can she boot into safe mode? (tap F8 repeatedly during boot up, failing that just turn off half way thru the boot procedure (risky, but somtimes its the only way)). That way, she should be able to use
    HS remove
    using these instructions

    I cant remember, but I'm pretty sure its spyware, whatever it is.
