Everytime I start up my Norton Internet Security and Avast! Antivirus fail to start up and I get this box on screen telling me that "MSVCR71.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or has an error...."

What is this all about - can anyone offer a resolution please!?

    Thanks

OK guys, this is really becoming an issue I think.

Take a look at the print screen - aren't these folders associated with XP OS!? --> PRINTSCREEN <--

In addition I thought it would be necessary to give you the background info on the MSVCR71.dll issue I've been having and still am having for that matter. Firstly I installed Blaze Media Pro from P2P and during the installation it informed me certain files didn't register or sumthing; I did not pay attention to which files had the error so I can't be any more specific. Next it asked me to reboot and I did. Upon start up, that is when I begun to get the MSVCRT71.dll errors and the processes 'ccApp.exe/ashAvast' wont operated - this is my Symantec and Avast! Antivirus programs.

Also, I have uninstalled my Sun Java in thinking reinstalling that may resolve the problem - it hasn't and now I can't install Java, the offline installed says it cannot install with the current internet settings/connections or something and the online installer just fails to run at all :S.

    Any ideas?

When you download anything from P2P, you don't know what may be mixed in with the download.
You should have downloaded it from the website http://www.blazemp.com/downloads.html

Since your security programs seemed to be turned off, it might be good to head over to the malware section, read through the Read and Run http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
then post a thread in that section.
