Server Ping is getting on my Ponning nerves.

Server Ping is getting on my Ponging nerves.

I've recently started utilizing Kaillera to network with other emulator users and I'm having a problem. My ping is terribly high. Is there a way to remedy this without purchasing something new? I use a personal computer connected to a router. The router is connected to another P.C. as well. Does this cause a problem? My connection speed says 100.0Mbps. Does that help or hurt(it definately says 100). I read somewhere that Norton Antivirus hurts, is that true and if so, is there a free substitute until my budget opens up? Finally, I never understood this, why is it bad to use all caps on a forum?

 

All caps is considered shouting or yelling, and thus not nice on forums.
