    Good morning everyone.

    Just a quick question.
I have a new computer Windows XP home with Service Pack 2

When I check for windows critical update, it shows Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
Do I need to download this if I already have Service pack 2?

    Thanks
    Gal

That service pack is part of the .NET framework , not the operating system. It wouldn't be a bad idea to update it.

Yes if you use applications/software that use .Net Framework as you will be upto date.

Alot of service packs have nothing to do with the OS service packs they are extra add-on software, thats why you will see many different SPs versions around, just depends what you are using or need.

just for curiositys sake you may or may not find this interesting but since SP2 was installed, any of the updates you download now are called SP3 as in pic below..

Thanks kodo and halo. I am downloading it now.

Yes, I did notice other things are under SP3, but thanks for pointing that out.
