I haven't used my laptop in a while so I decided to update to Service Pack 2 today. When I went to the MS Update site and did the install evaluation it said I needed to install Service Pack 3, which I did. However, Service Pack 3 doesn't seem to have the same features as Service Pack 2. For example, I checked for the pop up blocker and that didn't seem to be installed. Does Service Pack 3 contain all the features of Service Pack 2? If not, is there a way I can install Service Pack 2 now?....I am running XP Pro.

There is no SP3 for Windows XP.

What was the exact title of the update?

UGH- this does not sound good. The update is this: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Service Pack 3, English Version

That was the suggested update I was given when MS did its analysis. I just noticed that it cannot be installed. It doesn't look like MS will allow me to install SP 2 for some reason.

It's an update which will be included in SP3 (should it be realeased), thus why it has SP3 in the name. Anyway....

If it won't automatically allow you to download SP2 through Windows Update, you can still get it manually here:

This is the 'full' version for IT professionals to load on multiple machines, as such it's much larger than the automatic version...272MB, to be exact. It's good to get this one if you can't get the regular one & don't want to wait for a CD from MS, and if you have a decent high speed connection. It only took me about 12 minutes to download. As a bonus, you need this one to slipstream SP2 onto your existing Windows XP install CD, if you want to do that. I did it, wasn't hard & now any machine I load is good to go with SP2 right away.

Yeah, I know...it's the fastest file I can download I've found on the internet...I was averaging about 565 KiloBytes/sec...not kilobits. Most others top out at 200KB/s or less. My ISP claims 'up to 5mb/s' download speed...which works out to 625KB/s...so it's close.
