    Good morning,
Running Win 10 with all current updates on a DELL Inspiron 3847 with 16GB RAM

See the image, I get this at the end of the startup process, I can click OK to make it disappear and the computer seems to work properly otherwise.

What might be causing this and how can I correct it?

I'd suggest using Autoruns to track down the cause of the service failure message.
Download Autoruns and save it to its own folder.
    • Right click on Autoruns.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    • As it begins to run, hit the Esc key to stop it.
    • Select from the menu Options > Scan Options, put a check mark in 'Verify code signatures' and uncheck the other boxes.
    • Press the F5 key to refresh and allow Autoruns to run to completion.
    • Go to File > Save and save Autoruns.arn to somewhere convenient like your Documents folder.
    • Zip the Autoruns.arn file and attach to your next post.

Refer to this and the answer from ktreisman for the probable cause.

Before going the uninstall route of Dell Support Assist and the Dell Support Assist Updater, you could try unchecking the 2 Dell scheduled tasks in Autoruns and then see if the problem persists.

Thank you! I uninstalled the DELL Support Assistant and Updater and this seems to have solved the Service Start issue. My other issue has also been resolved, probably NOT due to the DELL Service Support software but I'm not expert enough to be 100% sure. This software was installed after the slow down in an attempt to help solve that issue.

Thank for all you help everyone.
