    Hey there (again)

Basically my problem is at start up that my computer hangs, and is using 90%+ of my 2GB of RAM, with about 4 or 5% CPU usage, and services.exe is using over 400MB of it. I really dont know what the story is, I restarted in safe mode and it's a little bit more responsive. but when I go into task manager and resource monitor, it tells me my memory has over 100faults per second.

I have no idea whats wrong, it only started this morning.

    Thanks for your time

well, after being at this all day, It just fixed itself practically. I rebooted in safe mode, and took everything off startup, then rebooted-same thing happened. I found this while looking online though
http://www.dexternights.com/2008/03/12/servicesexe-using-up-all-your-memory-and-windows-hangs-after-launch/ and tried this. I ahd to do it twice, then wait for it to hang up the second time (waited 2 hours with the pc running and it returned to normal) then restarted the essentials, (antivirus etc) and rebooted, and it worked!

Just thought i'd post the link for anyone who finds themselves in teh same situation

I was in this predicament in early August with a notebook. I let windows run for 10 hours at 100% CPU with services using 85%-96%.
I eventually just restored an image I had made a few weeks earlier to correct the problem. I've actually been creating images of this nb about once a week since this happened in case I need to restore it again. It can be a pain restoring from a 3 or 4 week old image and then needing to grab all the updates to windows and the security programs and FF.

Yeah, I happened to have an image from about three days ago that I restored too, but didn't work. O figured it mus have been something since my last reboot though, does anyone know what causes this even?
