On today's front page (May 19 2009). If my motherboard chipset isn't listed (I have an AMD 780G chipset; the 760/790 chipsets are listed), how do I find out what my clock gen chip is? I've used Everest Ultimate and PCWizard'08 and neither has given me the info. Here's my mobo info if anyone can help:
    Biostar Model: TA780 M2+
    Chipset: AMD 780G / SB700

    :-D
    Thanks!

    :confused Nobody???

That's OK, I found out on my own just a minute ago. I was able to get my hands on the same motherboard and closely examined several of the small on-board chips. This was impossible with my current rig w/o completely taking it apart, but luckily I came across the same board not built in to a case. Anyway- I wrote down the numbers, Googled 'em and found that MSI used the RTM880N-793 clock generator on one of their 790 chipset mobos, and my mobo just happens to also have the RTM880N-793 clock gen chip.

    So there.
    ;)

    (Naturally, SetFSB doesn't support the RTM880N-793 :( )

Funny you should mention it.... I've been toying with the idea of a new SLI capable motherboard with a new AMD Phenom ][ X4.... :-D

I love the Gigabyte ones ay ... I just bought a brand new one for my new system ... why does everyone want an AMD? All my experiences with AMD have been nothing but bad ... 2 bit geek said its because the systems were cheaper ...?

It's not necessarily that I want an AMD, but I've been using AMD processors for years and have had nothing but great results. I'm currently running an AMD X2 5400+ and I love it, but I'm thinking it's time for a quad core. My current mobo will support a quad, so I might get the CPU first, then save up for a new mobo later, or I'll get the mobo now, then a new quad later.... I haven't quite figured it out. And the big plus is that the AMD chips are cheaper than Intel, and IMO they run just as good for less $$$$.
