setting changes after booting in safe mode

the other day I went into safe mode to run a few virus scans. After I did that and started normally my visual settings (theme, font sizes, etc.) were changed. And now I can't get them back to the way i had it. Can I get those to return to the way it was? And also i tried to fix it by messing around and finding what it was at before, but it cant find the right combination. Will doing that mess up my chances of getting it back? Thanks for the help
