I am currently running windows98 se on a 15 gig hd which is almost full. I have purchased an 80 gig hd and windows xp upgrade. I want to do a clean install of xp on the new hd but have a lot of files on the old one that I want to transfer to the new one without burning to a cd. My question is can I disconnect the 15 gig hd while I install the new os on the new hd and then reconnect the 15 gig hd with the jumper set to slave drive and will xp os be able to read it so I can create new folders and copy the files over? Any advice will be appreciated. thanks.

Yes you can do that. XP will have no problems reading the 15 gig when slaved.
