    Hey guys,

I remember while back I read something on the board about how the majority of computers with dual processors aren't actually confiqured properly to use them effectively. I've just got a new Dell inspiron notebook with an intel centrino duo processor and i want to make sure it's working at it's best. My OS is windows vista btw if that matters at all.

    cheers

You read incorrectly, I am afraid.

Plenty of fake tweaks out there, that people perceive as real because of the placebo effect.

You might have heard that "Most software is not designed to work more effectively with a dual core processor. A multi-core processor works best with multi-threaded applications". That is changing considerably now, so you shouldn't worry about it.
