Hello all. I have gotten some good help from this site before, so I am hoping I can get my issue resolved. I recently aquired a new machine. I put a 60 gig hard drive in it and installed XP with no issue, everything worked fine. I got an 80 gig hard drive with the intention of installing XP on it, making it the master and making the 60 gig a slave. When I tried to install XP, it got to a point and stopped telling me, "Setup cannot copy ndistapi.sys", and it wont go any further.

I am using an original XP installation cd, which has ALWAYS worked fine. The disk isnt damaged at all.

The only thing I did was put in an additonal dvd burner. I tried installing from both cd/dvd rom drives thinking maybe it didnt like having a 2nd one in there....same issue.

I even put the 80 gig hard drive in another machine and tried to install XP and got the same issue. AND I put the original 60 gig hard drive (which worked before) and tried to reinstall XP and its giving me the same error.

I brought the 2nd dvd drive out of the equation, restoring the machine back to the way it was when I first got it and the install worked.

The machine is a DELL Dimension 4550. 512 mb, 2.4 Ghz.

I am about to go crazy here. Any ideas?
