this is gonna sound weird but diaper rash ointment works well too.
I don't think I've ever had sunburn on my knees though, that's gotta be a hassle. :)

Take baths with vinegar in it, it should relieve some of the burn and you'll smell sweet too! :)

Rub Aloe on it all the time!!!! Usiually you can find that blue or green stuff for after sunburns, and it has aloe in it!!!! Also, keep it in the fridge and it works twice as good!!!!

If you have one of those aloe plants that you break off the plant and rub the goop on that comes out of the inside of the plant were you broke it off, that serves the same purpose...you just go straight to the source instead of buying aftermarket products that are made from that plant...like the blue and green stuff I was talking about!!!!

All of these suggestions are good. Would you believe I have also used baking soda in a cool bath....
Get a protector with the highest SPF you can find for next time:D

And remember, If you sweat a lot or go in the water. reapply the lotion! It may say it's water resistant but don't believe it!

@HUDIK: I had some skin cancer removed about 12 years ago…the my dermatologist told me about sun block, sun block comes with 15, 30, 45 protection, but the actual protection is 15 percent, 30 is only one and one/half percent better the 15, and 45 ins just three percent better than 15….so the numbers are really 15, 16 ½, and 18 percent protection……..he said, to just buy the 15 and put it on more often………he also said he could prescribe what’s called 60 percent, but that you should just live in a dark room……..wobbles

That's really amazing. I thought the higher the SPF the better you were protected. You learn something every day.
Hope you are OK now though!!

The 60% would kinda make you a hermit sort of.......effective but nada social life.
