SFC Scannow unable to run

Hi,

I am currently trying to sort out a Malware problem in the Malware forums and they have directed me here for advice. I am trying to run SFC Scannow but I only have a SP2 XP Pro Disk and I am prompted to put the SP3 disk in everytime I try to run it.

Do you think downloading the SP3 ISO from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

would work? If so would I need any special burning software to do put it on a CD?

What you really need is a full SP3 version of XP, you can do this by a process known as slipstreaming and then creating the CD. This is one method, there are several other variations.

That's good look after your new CD, you might need it to run a Repair or fresh install of Windows soon; a lot depends on your results over in the malware forum.
