Shareaza Help

I wanted to download and use Shareaza but I am a little afraid that it might have malware or spyware with it. Has anyone have and idea about this??

When you use p2p, you are making yourself vunerable to trojans, viruses, spyware, worms, and the like. Some p2p programs themselves are bundled with adware. Plus the legal implications of downloading pirated stuff. So if you decide to use it, have a good anti-virus and anti-spyware blocker on.

 

Shareaza itself is to the best of my knowledge clean and free of any spyware, unfortunatly its not possible to say the same for anything you download using it.

You should be aware that you won't actually know what a file REALLY is untill you have downloaded it and run it, you are in the hands of the people sharing it. If you have a browse of the malware removal forum you will see that a large proportion of infections such as Zlob have come from a file downloaded from p2p.

In my opinion you should stay away from p2p and torrents, I can't really think of a legitimate reason to use it myself, If you must though Shareaza is probably one of the safest to use in terms of nastys shipping with the actual software.
