Sharepoint 2010 Page Viewer web part

I am using the page viewer web part on a sharepoint 2010 web page to display the web front end of an internal application.

it displays most of the web app just fine, but certain parts that appear to be java cause an error to be displayed:

Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error.

I can't seem to find a solution online. When I run the web app in a normal browser window, this error does not occur, so its something specifically sharepoint related.
