Is it possible for 2 client machines in different cities to share printers via a VPN connection? The customer doesn't have a print server. I know there are services like Google Cloud Print and installing Cloud Print for Windows to make the virtual printers show up in the Printers and Faxes window. Is purchasing a service like this the only way or is there a no-cost way? I haven't had a need to do VPN work until now so my experience with this is nill. I've heard about VPN and seen videos, but have yet to successfully implement it let alone set up a shared printer via VPN.

Is there a small print server device that will do the trick? The ones I've seen only allow an older USB style printer see a local wireless network, not the internet.

Easiest is to load Google Chrome on both machines, and use that to print to/from either machine to what ever printer, is located where-ever. Using Remote Desktop to print to a remote printer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312135
