Shift and numberpad

I've just got a new mouse

It has the option of the side buttons working as the numberpad.

so naturally I started binding my in-game keys and I use all sorts of modifiers, most common being shift.

when I started doing shift + razer button 3 (numpad 3) it's giving me the button as if I had number lock turned off.

Is there some grand way to override this shift button making it act as if I had numlock off? I want the only way for me to change between numlock on/off to be by pressing the numlock key.

I really appreicate any responses I may get, I've been crawling the web for a few hours, found alot of others with the same problem but no solution. thanks! -Adam
