shlwap1.dll missing

On a seperate computer I'm having another problem. The computer boots up but not all the way. It errors out before windows loads with the error about the missing link to shlwap1.dll missing. If you have any ideas about this let me know. I have tried to find the directory for photo delux to rename it and cant find it using DOS. Any ideas here? Not very good at navigating DOS here. Would there be a way to load the shlwap1.dll using a disk thru dos?

 

at the command prompt type: (assuming the directory is called "Photo Delux"n and is located on the C:\ drive)

cd \program files\photo delux

or you might try w/ quotes:

cd "C:\Program Files\Photo Delux"

then use the rename command:

ren shlwap1.dll shlwap1.old

also use:

ren /?

I tried the suggestions on typing cd "C:\Program Files\Photo Delux" at the prompt, but it said too many parameters. Windows does not load completely. Any other ideas?

 

Are you sure you typed it in correctly? "too many parameters" means you put too many spaces in.
