    Hi,
Im using Firefox and at least 2/3 times a day i see the message show below.
Do you know of a fix or an alternative piece of software etc that will do the same job as this is now getting to be a bit silly.

    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the fast reply.
Ive removed the flash player & restarted the pc,its now gone.
I am now installing the flash player as shown on the supplied link.

Which do you advise me to select from the options shown below.
1, Allow Adobe to install updates.
    OR
2, Notify me to install updates.

Normaly i would select install automatically.
But is Adobe able to be hacked etc then install rubbish thay i do not want ?

    Please advise.

That is not Shockwave Player, it is Shockwave FLASH - they are two different adobe programs. But it was identified correctly in that Mozilla Support link.
I prefer to update it manually usually when I see it shown on MGs but I always go to:
    https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    to get the latest version.
The problem of freezing in rendering flash can happen on any system. It often happens when you navigate to multiple sites that are using Flash. You don't need Flash activated on every site you visit. But if you have the Abobe Flash plug in settings in Firefox > Tools > Options > Plug ins set to 'ask me to activate' you can then manually activate selectively when there is content that needs it and you want to view.
It wont be any different in any other Firefox-based browser.

EDIT: The path to plugins is actually Firefox > Tools > Addons > Plug ins (not 'options')
