shockwave pop-up/explorer.exe on restart

    2 goofy things---on nearly any various video, I get a "shockwave flash" pop-up window---stalls video for several seconds until i close window............also, whenever i do a restart/shutdown i get a notice that 'explorer.exe' needs to shutdown----gives the option of "force shutdown?" help please---any info needed from me?

    Windows 7 home premium---copyright 2009---service pack 1. Mozilla Firefox 35.0 (x86 en US) Is that the correct info for my browser? I'm clearly learning here.

    1. For flash: click on Tools then Addons and then in the left pane Plugins.
    a) What version of Shockwave flash is installed?
    b) Make sure Always Activate is showing rather than ask to activate.

    2. On the shut down issue, what you see might be normal for that computer. Just give it time to shut off. Don't force.
    My husband and I have Acer netbooks. His has an AMD chipset and Nvidia graphics while mine has an Intel chip and graphics. His netbook ALWAYS displays a waiting to shutdown message. Mine rarely, I'd say 99.9% of the time, displays any message. It just turns off.
