Okay, I admit it. I've been out of the video card scene since my GeForce4 Ti 4200. I'm looking for a new nvidia card without going nuts. From what I can see the NVIDIA SLI solutions include the PCI Express versions of GeForce 6800 Ultra, GeForce 6800 GT, GeForce 6600 GT. and the GeForce 6800.

Can someone please provide a recommendation as to what I really need here? I've heard good things about the 6600 GT for the price but are you much better off with one of the others? Any inputs here would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. Not really interested in ATI cards

i believe dual 6600GTs did about the same as a single 6800GT/Ultra. 6800/gt/ultra doesnt benefit much from SLI.

hehe i tested my friend's x800 pro - the top of the range one in my pentium 3 m/b and it worked fine, but bear in mind that you will need AT LEAST 400W psu if you're running a high powered video card.
I've been looking for an update on my 9200SE and whilst chatting to Adynalyne, he recommended me a 6600 for the performance and price and i've been looking into these. at the end of the day, it's down to you what you buy and the price region in which you can afford.
