This problem has happened frequently on different network peer to peer computers.

I can have two networked computers (Station1 and Station2) and I will put a shortcut as an icon on the desktop of Station2 of an exe program on the c drive of station1. When I look at the properties of the icon on the desktop on Station2 the target will be e:\somefilefolder\.exe name where e is the c drive on Station1.

If something unusual happenes such as a power outage the target of the icon on Station2 changes. Sometimes it will change to c:\somefilefolder\.exe name or some other path.

Anyone know what causes this and is there some way to prevent this from happening?
