Short of Memory

I keep running out of memory (I think). I have 128MB, which used to be enough but it seems you have to keep upgrading just to carry on doing the same things as you could do a few years ago with less resources. I have ordered a 512MB card but this might take a week or so to arrive in darkest Banffshire. In the meantime, I wondered if any of the software which runs at boot up is superfluous (WIN98) This is the list you get when doing control alt delete immediately after boot up:
