Hello all, my name is Adam and I am new to Major Geeks. Although I am well versed on computer basics I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to computers in general.
I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. I was attempting to make a desktop shortcut of a program from my “All Programs” list that is accessible from the “Start” button. Instead of right clicking and “sending it” to the desk top, I dragged and dropped. While I succeeded in making a desktop shortcut, I also seemingly removed the program from my program list. How do I put this program and its icon back on my program list? Thanks in advance.

Control + Z .........if it is straight away.

Another way is the left click the desktop shortcut & hold. Now drag it to the start menu button. It will expand. Carefully put it back.

Another way. Right click on the start menu/open all users or explore all users. Expand it & put it in there.

Right-click on the "start" button, doubleclick on the program folders, and copy/drag and drop the shortcut into that folder (or subfolder, as appropiate). Hope that helps.
