    I have a Radeon 9550 256MB DDR and I wanna get a considerably better AGP card (I've got no PCI-E slot).

    Should I get a Point of View Geforce 6800 GX 128MB DDR;

    Or a Sapphire Radeon X800GT 256MB GDDR3;

    I have a few questions on the above;
    1. Will these cards be a lot better than my current card?
    2. Will the memory difference between the two make much difference in performance?
    3. Will I be able to play Battlefield 2 at 1024x768 with full quality (except maybe AA) at a good framerate (50+fps)?

    My spec is;
    3.4Ghz P4
    1Gb DDR
    yada yada..

    Thanks for your help.

    I'm personally an nVidia fan, and Battlefield 2 was designed and tested mainly with nVidia cards, of course it works for ATI cards though.

    My opinion? Get the 6800.

    And hell yeah the improvements will be great, I went from a Radeon 9000 to a Geforce 6600GT and I was like woah. Can put the settings on high, anti aliasing on 4 and it's great. I never knew the game had shadows!!!

    u could go 4 a ATI 9600pro, they've dropped 2 nearly half price now (£45ish)
    go 4 the 256mb, tis good.

    upgrading from a an fx5700 128mb to a 6800gt is the only video card upgrade that graphics and effects have exceeded my expections and blown me away,as mcadam said you can have everything almost maxed out, and have good fps,you will have to turn things down though if you play against 64 players :)

    Thanks fellers, what about the ram difference though(128MB DDR vs 256MB DDR3)?

    Also, it's not a 6800GT, it's a 6800GX. Come on guys I'm waiting here with my pre-paid credit card and half a bottle of whiskey.. I might do something stupid..

    I just bought a 7800 GT and love it... BF2 is awsome on it... well, it and an AMD 64 bit 3800+ dual core proc.

    Well, I did some drunken research and found out that almost everything about the X800GT is better;
    6800GX / X800GT
    Core clock speed =
    350Mhz / 475Mhz
    Mem clock speed =
    850Mhz / 980Mhz
    Mem acc speed =
    2.8ns / 2.0ns
    Pixel pipelines =
    6(12 unlockable) / 8(16 unlockable)
    Vertex shaders =
    5 / 6

    So I'm going with the radeon (its €5.01 cheaper anyway).

    Why not the 6800GS(GS is a cheaper GT) (its 200$ U$D) which is less then 200pnds isnt it?

    I'm in ireland, stuff costs a lot more here. I've already bought the X800gt, It looks prettier.
