Should I keep these enabled?

    I would like to know if I should keep these enabled...
    1. Indexing
    2. Remote Asstant
    3. Remote Desktop Sharing
    4. Page File

    Was not sure where else to put this one.

    1. Really up to you. Indexing will record the locations of all the files on your computer, so Windows can find them faster, but in older operating systems like XP or below, this may provide a severe performance hit whilst the indexer is running, although it pauses whilst you are using the computer above a certain resource level.

    2. Not unless you use it. This could be a method for a hacker to take control of your PC more easily.

    3. Same as 2, except more can be done with Remote Desktop.

    4. The page file is critical to the operation of your computer. It acts as virtual RAM on your hard drive. The only reason we use RAM is that the page file (PF) is too slow for in-program use. the PF is used to store data that the computer thinks will not be accessed for a while, or data when the RAM is full. It will also record an error message if the computer blue screens. Your PF should be set to about 1.5 times the available RAM, preferrably on a separate physical hard drive to the OS. Note: that is not a separate partition, a separate physical drive, if one is available. If not, no worries.
