Should I reformat?

    Hello, first post here, I was wondering if I should reformat my hard drive on my computer. There are several reasons why I want to, but am not sure if I should. My brothers have the computer loaded with junk almost up to the 80GB limit, and there is extremely persistant and computer bogging spyware that I can't seem to get rid of (yes, I have gone to the HiJackThis post and done everything I can there). I would just like to reformat it to start it fresh, spyware free, and more space and get rid of old unwanted programs. Should I go ahead do this? If I should how do I start?
