    Hi everyone,
I am currently running win 2000 and i have been looking to upgrade to XP Pro. I definitly will get a full version and do a clean install. My question.. is it worth it? I have heard the good and the bad of XP and i like using 2000, but i dont know if i am holding back any performance from my computer from using 2000. Any help and opinions would be great.
    Thanks

I have dual boot pc running 2000 pro and xp pro like both but I have to say I probably boot up to 2000 more often, I feel like I have more control on 2k
    They are both so similar.
Now the rest of family say they dont like 2k,(what do they know anyway) I have three other pc one xp home and xp pro they use those and another with 2k which I use to test programs and stuff before I run on the other pcs
If I could only have one it wouldnt matter which one!
The wife and kids, XP, hands down
Xp is newer, the latest greatest a few more bells and wistles, the system restore has come in handy after the my teenagers screw everthing up.

If your happy with 2k and like it stick with it, if money dont matter buy xp youll like it too,

Preformance gains from xp good question Cant say Ive noticed any
XP will boot faster, I have one that boots in about 8 secconds, XP seems to be less prone to bugs from internet

Hey I even read that link xp does have more!

I like XP. Gets my vote over 2K on restore points alone (easy way to correct the Aw S_ _ _ _! factor) :)

    Hi
Thanks for the link and your opinions. It definitly looks like XP has more to offer. I am arguing with my self whether or not to do this. If i do i will have to reinstall 20GB of games. lol. I will probly wait a while though. Hopefully the prices will go down in about a year. Thanks for your help, and to all others i would still like your opinions of xp and 2000.
    Thank you all

my vote is for win2K, after using XP home on a couple other computers i cant stand it, its seems so designed for non-geeks. i find that both insulting and frustrating, but thats all just my opinion.

XP Offers a lot better support for multimedia applications, digital cameras etc
also offers a lot more support for gaming
    better driver support
the visual appearance is a lot more pleasant (gotta love the eye candy) :)

IMO go for XP if you can afford it
    Just my 02 ;)
