Can anyone please shed some light as to why my pc has started to shut down completely, on its own, in the middle of a game, every time that I play it.
    Windows xp
    TIA

Is it the same game always or does it happen with other software or games?

Is it at the smae point in a game, ie a level you reach or is it random?
Whats the game and is it fully upto date with all patches?

As games do tend to stress the PC alot I would be suspecting temperatures as the culprit, so what are your PCs CPU, Motherboard temps? at both idle and say running the game.

Thanks for your response, it is always with the same game, Age of Empires Three and doesn't happen with any other program or software. It will occur at different stages of the game. I have thoroughly checked and cleaned the disc. The game is fully up to date. I am not sure how to check my temperatures but will look for info.
It first began to happen when I loaded a citrix program to remotely log onto my companies database, I immediately deleted it but now it happens with the game.
