shutdown errors.

hi i have just built a computer windows xp it is, and when i shut down my pc it goes throgh all the saving settings blah blah blah. then when it says windows is shutting down it just stays there and does nothing. can anyone help. UKARMYCADET

 

Most of the time when this happens, it is a video driver at fault! Check and see if you have the latest updated drivers for your video.

 

its does everything is new and updated

 

Go to Start, run and type in services.msc then click OK.

If you have a service called Nvidia Driver Helper service, double-click and disable it.

That is usually the most common culprit, however, many things can cause this, hardware or software, and it can be difficult to isolate.

BTW, while you are in services, try THESE suggestions.

Hello I opend this thred last year. I have now had my computer a while and no problems at all. But unfortunately I am having the same problem. The Nvidia services are not ticked still and i can't find any solutions.

The problems is as above. I click start ----> Turn of computer ----> shutdown.

It logs off saves settings everything fine, but it just hangs on windows is shutting down.

Please can anyone help me
