shutting down problem

ok i just upgraded my pc. heres what new components i added.
asus a8v-xe mobo
amd 64 939 4000+
saphirre x1950 pro video card


my psu is 2 months old (420)
i have 2 gigs of the compatable ram for this setup.
all hard drives and dvd roms were existing

so when i try to boot up the pc a few things happen. first of all i was getting some kind of overclock warning. i cleared cmos and tried again. i still get that randomly but the main problem is that the pc just shuts down or restarts. last night it ran for almost an hour before this happened, but its usually in the boot process. i managed to get into safe mode and check the cpu temp. it was 40c. i tried to run some spyware and anti V tests but the pc didnt stay alive long enough.

My last pc didnt do this so i dont think its the power supply. the cpu isnt overheating. i think its definately something rto do with one of these three major new components but i have no idea how to check them.

i would appreciatte if you guys had any suggestions. Is 420W enough to run these new components?

 

I think its the power supply..... 420 probably isn't enough..... how many HD's and cd/dvd drives do you have hooked up?

 

one of each atm. had 2 of each but dsconected ust in case

 

oh and one more thing. soetimes the pcwill just boot up again by itself after a couple mnutes

 

actually i think i may have found my culprit. when i went into my bios my cpu temp read as 64 at first and climbed all the way up to 80. the heasink had pre applied paste and i added some more. i turned it back on again and it hadnr changed. now the cover has been off this entire time. replacing the side panel is the only other way i can think of to get this twemp down

 

nah didnt work. cant get that temp down

 

Well then you probably want to remove all of that crap paste and buy some good arctic silver paste......

 

guys i realy need help here. i fixed my temp problem and bought a new psu. the pc wil bootinto safe mode no problem but when i try to start windows normally it gts to the widows xp screen then rstarts every dam time. I am imagining this isa driver isue but i cant install the drivers from the mobo disk in safe mode. what can i do?
