Sick of RP and QT

ok, say i am watching a movie, etc. afterwards, the program stays in the taskbar and then will tend to be there upon reboot, causing me to have to edit msconfig every time.

i dont want the damn program to be loaded every flippin time i watch one video or listen to one damn audio file.

 

There is no real way around that. Both of these programs view themselves as extremly important and always readd themselves.

There is a program called "Real alternative" which can play rm files and doesn't constantly add itself to your startup. I simply suggest using that.

I believe there is also one called "quick time alternative" but I'm not 100% sure. google can help you find it though. It should come up easy. Both of the alternative players are entirely free as well.

You need to fully uninstall the official version of each before installing the Alternative version. They use the excellent Media Player Classic as their media player. Both are regularly updated to take account of changes in the official versions (updated codecs etc) too.

I ditched the official versions in February this year and have never looked back. Highly recommended.

 

I gave up using QuickTime a long time ago because it kept adding itself to startup every time the program was used.

Very annoying.

Do people that write this software ever actually use it?

 

Ironically enough, QT, which is made by Apple, has no startup entry in OS X.

However, if it did, you could delete it from your account preferences.

I think Apple did it just to piss off Windows users
