hi i'm running xp pro sp2 and my pc has lost fuctionality and crashes when ever i try and use the cd/dvd.
won't let me boot into safe mode either. all programs seems to be disabled and i can only shut down through task manager.

i get a dark blue screen telling me the following files ati2dvag, gd123.dll and hal.dll are either missing or causing my pc to crash and windows has to close.

something turned my windows firewall off too!

have ran avg virus, spyware and rootkit scans, cwshredder, spybot and counterspy and my pc seems clean

could someone please examine the hjt log and tell me what they think?

much appriciated and thanks in advance

    regards,niall

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your problems do not actually sound like malware. It would be better if you posted in the Software Forum which is where I will move this thread to.

However you do have a major issue in that you have two antivirus programs installed. You have AVG7 and Symantec. You need to uninstall one of these immediately. If you uninstall Symantec (and it may appear that it was already uninstall but not properly), you should also run the below, and then reboot and run it again since Symantec rarely uninstalls properly.

    Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT)
