side-by-side error

I'm getting dozens and dozens of these errors showing up in the event log:

SideBySide 80 Error Tue Oct 04 23:17:36 2011 Activation context generation failed for "C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\join.me\join.me.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.7601.17514_none_fa396087175ac9ac.manifest. Component 2: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.7601.17514_none_41e6975e2bd6f2b2.manifest.

What the heck does this mean? I've used join.me, but not in over a month, is there a place where I should find this 'policy' and remove an entry?

Typically this error stops appearing after installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)

Install it, reboot, and see if you are still getting the same error.
