SideWinder Game Pad Pro Help

    i just got an old Microsoft SideWinder Game Pad Pro m/n:GP4

    i cant seem to get this to work...im runnin Win XP, which complicates stuff anyway, but i have tried different software and drivers and i can't get it to work. It connects thru USB and sometimes recognizes as a keyboard, but other than that it won't accept any input. Has anyone been able to get around this???
