silent hill homecoming problem

after installing and updating to direct x 9.0c
error has ocured an it says

ABORTING build [FINAL] v6.34 Changelist: #663064 Silent Hill: D3D device could not be created. Please make sure the latest DirectX and display drivers are installed.
[no game crash info]

my pc specs are

intel dual core 2.6ghz
2 gb ddr2 of ram
320 gb hardrive
384mb intel 33/31 graphics display adapter (built in)
dvd rom
pls help! thanks...

 

if i want to buy a graphics card..wats the best choice?

mine says ABORTING build [final] v6.34 changelist: #66306 Silent Hill: Failed to create pixel shader because we ran out of video memory. Ty decreasing the quality settings. [no game crash info]

what can i do to fix it?

 

does the game have a "safe mode" option to start it? (i ask because there are a few that do)

you probably want to update any drivers and directx.
